Brochette is French word which mean roast meat with spit. There are lots of stalls who sale Brochette and potatoes. It is eaten with Putu (hot sause). Some people call Brochette as Nyama, it may be Swahiri influence.
Mbogo is one of the principal food in Mayotte. It is fried cassava root(it is called Manioc in Mayotte because there is French teritorry). They also eat baked one.
Bricapen is one of the principal food in Mayotte. It is fried breadfruit. We can eat it in Saotome-Principe , however Sotome-style one is baked breadfruit (not fried).
Barabock is one of the principal food in Mayotte. It is fried cooking banana. It's not sweet but dense and frim. It is like potatoes.
It is Mayotte 's traditional pan cake. Ingredients are rice, water (mix 2 days before cooking), coconut, sugar and baking powder. It is slightly sweet cake.
